Proper Registrations and Ownership Required at 46th Annual Walking Horse Trainers Show
The Walking Horse Trainers Association and the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders & Exhibitors Association, in a spirit of cooperation, will be working together to assure that all horses shown at the 46th Annual Walking Trainers Show are properly registered and transferred with the TWHBEA. Proper registration and ownership are requirements set forth for all horse show entries by the Horse Protection Act. SHOW HIO, who will be checking horses at the Trainers Show, also defines ‘owner’, in their rulebook, as ‘the person shown as the owner by the records of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association (TWHBEA) and/or a person who has a bona fide lease as approved and on file with TWHBEA, or who has legal title’.
TWHBEA will have staff on hand in the entry office to assist the WHTA with validation of proper registration and current ownership of the entries. Christy Lantis, TWHBEA VP of Admin/Fiscal/Audit, states ‘TWHBEA is happy to assist the WHTA, and looks forward to helping owners make sure their transfers and registrations are in order. TWHBEA would like to encourage owners to transact their business prior to the 46th Annual Walking Horse Trainers Show. TWHBEA has new and extended hours, Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., to assist’.
Mickey McCormick, President of the Walking Horse Trainers Association, also encourages owners and trainers to make sure that their paperwork is in order prior to the show, and states that ‘the Walking Horse Trainers Association is looking forward to a great show and is excited to have the support and the assistance of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders & Exhibitors Association’.
