Carroll S. Benedict Obituary
Carroll Stone Benedict 67 of Glasgow, Kentucky died Tuesday night August 28, 2007 at the Medical Center at Bowling Green, KY. Carroll was born in Glasgow the son of the late Garland S. and Pearl Underwood Benedict. He was the owner and operator of Benedict and Benedict Inc. and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was very active in civic and community affairs and at the present was serving as the Chairman of the Board of T.J. Samson Community Hospital. Carroll was also a member and past president of the Glasgow Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris fellow, was a former member and chairman of the Glasgow Board of Education, and a member and former director of the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed tennis and horses and was an avid Tennessee Walking Horse Breeder and had served as president of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders Association.
He is survived by his wife Karen Lewis Benedict; a son Spencer Benedict and wife Carrie; a daughter Jane Layton Benedict; a grandson Austin Benedict; an aunt Rachel Benedict; his mother-in-law Ernestine Lewis; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Jane and C.E. Rutledge and Steve and Laura Lewis. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
