TWHBEA Reminds Industry Of 69th Annual National Futurity
The Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association (TWHBEASM) wants to remind the Tennessee Walking Horse industry that the 69th annual National Futurity will be held on Wednesday evening, August 22, 2007 at the Calsonic Arena in Shelbyville, TN beginning at 5:30 PM. The Judges panel includes Tom Davis, Texas; Ronald Sapp, Tennesssee; Ken Shrum, Tennessee; Vernon Stamper, Kentucky; Leslie Topham, Utah.
The TWHBEA National Futurity is the premier showcase of this breed’s youngsters and it is the richest purse of any one-day event in the Tennessee Walking Horse industry. “The TWHBEA plans to dedicate significant resources in 2008 to the long-term expansion of the National Futurity. With a focus on sponsorships and plans for a multi-day event, the prestige, as well as prize money, will increase considerably.
The purse is determined based on nominations, interest-income, and stallion sponsorships less show expenses. This year we were able to reduce show expenses by slightly over $5,000” said Chuck Cadle, TWHBEA Executive Director.
The 69th annual National Futurity is being affiliated by the TWHBEA with R. Craig Evans managing the inspection process. The Horse Show Manager will be Chuck Cadle with Lori Puckett serving as Executive Assistant. All exhibitors will be required to have a TWHBEA Show Card. The annual fee for the TWHBEA Show Card for members is $20.00 and a one-day member Guest Show Card may be purchased for $10.00 (non-members $40.00 and $30.00, respectively). If you have any questions or are in need of any assistance, please feel free to contact Miss Puckett at 931-359-1574.
The Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ AssociationSM, headquartered in Lewisburg, Tenn., is the oldest and most prestigious organization devoted to the promotion and protection of the breed.
