Operating Divisions' Committees: 2016 Term
The primary function of a committee is to contribute to the efficient operation of an organization. A committee is concerned with the communication of information and with assisting the leadership in the decision making process by providing needed information and recommending actions. These standing committees exist to accomplish these tasks.
Standing Committees perform a continuing function necessary for the on-going operation of the Association. They operate indefinitely and are provided for in the Association Bylaws or the Board Manual of Policy and Procedures. All intended committee actions are subject to the approval of the Board of Directors/Executive Committee.
To preserve and manage the administrative and financial welfare of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association

To set standards for registry and breeding concerns and to facilitate the future integrity of breeders of Tennessee Walking Horses.

By Laws/Enforcement Committee
To enforce the Bylaws and rules of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders’ and Exhibitors’ Association and to recommend appropriate discipline for violators.

To be at the forefront of TWHBEA’s activities to develop and administer programs directed towards the protection of the welfare of Tennessee Walking Horses.

To communicate to the public, and defend if necessary the rights of owners and exhibitors of Tennessee Walking Horses.

Performance Show Horse Committee
To promote the Padded Performance Tennessee Walking Horse in the traditional show ring and to support all rail disciplines.
To assist in the preservation and development of traditional horse shows in which the quality of gait is rewarded thereby insuring the preservation of the unique breed trait of the Tennessee Walking Horse.
To work with the entire equine industry to develop show ring rules as they relate to the Tennessee Walking Horse and the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders' and Exhibitors' Association.

Pleasure Horse Committee
To promote the flat shod Tennessee Walking Horse and to increase interest in this segment of the breed. To work in conjunction with the TWHBEA Horse Shows Committee to assist horse shows with developing pleasure classes. Assist TWHBEA members by acting as a liaison to all HIOs concerning show horse rules. To act as liaison to other breed organizations.

To promote the Tennessee Walking Horse and communicate the missions of TWHBEA to its members and to the general public through the media, public service projects and/or special events and programs.

The Tennessee Walking Horse Youth Association’s mission is to enhance the leadership skills of our youth members while developing their equine skills in an educational environment. We will provide a positive approach to assist TWHYA youth to graduate from our program into areas of importance in fields of their choice.
