TWHBEASM Executive Committee

Dee Dee Sale – Vice President, Breeders

I have literally grown up in the Tennessee Walking Horse industry.  My first ride aboard a TWH was at the tender age of six weeks, when I went for my first trail ride with my father. I cannot imagine not growing up with horses, and am proud to raise my son within the industry.

My involvement with and love for our wonderful horse started with that first ride and continues today, encompassing all facets of our breed. What began as Sunday afternoon trail rides soon grew into a love for the competitive arena, and 4-H and local shows quickly gave way to competition on a state then national level. Along with my pleasure and show horses (both padded and flatshod), I have actively stood stallions, owned broodmares, and raised foals.

In 1994, I was fortunate to find a three-year-old stallion in Kentucky that I felt would make a top amateur horse. That horse was re-named Masquerading, and went on to become the 1998 World Grand Champion.  Since that time, I have actively promoted the stallion and his get within all facets of the breed.

I am currently serving my second term as a TWHBEA Director, and served on the 2005 Executive Committee as Vice President of Youth. During that year, our Tennessee Walking Horse Youth Association was brought to the forefront of the nation’s youth associations. That year, our youth transcended all disciplines to work together for worthwhile goals and objectives.

In 2006, I chaired the Gelding Opportunities Sub-Committee of the Breeders’ Committee and helped to author the Go! Gelding Program. I also contributed on other sub-committees of that division. Additionally, I have served on Enforcement, Performance, Horse Show, Marketing, Youth, and Owners/Exhibitors’ Committees in past years.

I am a licensed AAA judge with the NHSC, and have officiated at shows across the nation, including the TWHBEA World Show, twice at the International Flatshod Championships, and also the International Performance Championships.
