Christy has a lifetime involvement with Tennessee Walking Horses. Her Father, Jim Berneathy, was a professional dog trainer, and the family spent most weekends and summers field trialing. In the late 1970's, the family became acquainted with Russ Thompson while looking for field trial horses. Russ put Christy on a great show horse, Judge Roy Bean, and she was instantly hooked. This one moment in time began a lifetime obsession with riding, showing and breeding, as well as a lifelong friendship with the Russ Thompson Stables family.
Professionally, Christy manages two district offices for San Bernardino County Assessor, Bill Postmus, and is in her 22nd year with the office. She holds an Advanced Appraisal Certification with the California State Board of Equalization.
Christy married David Lantis on October 1, 2005 and gained two beautiful step-daughters, Kristen, 14, and Jeni, 12. Jeni is developing a passion for horses, is taking riding lessons and hopes to show for the first time in 2008. The family currently own five Tennessee Walking Horses, two broodmares, two colts, and a coming four year old filly, Especially, that they show.
