The Tennessee Walking Horse presence in Arkansas
Best of America by Horseback was busy in the month of April. They started the month with a trail ride at the Heart of Dixie in Troy, AL. Friday night featured a Trail Masters reception hosted by Best of America by Horseback with Marketing and Public Relations Director Michelle Turner serving as MC. The Saturday ride was off to a cold start, but TWHBEA Vice President of Marketing, Marty Irby and his father Ty represented the TWHBEA in the opening Ceremonies and joined many Tennessee Walking Horses on the filmed trail ride. Other events that took place on Saturday included a Versatility Demonstration by TWHBEA Member Tracy Pinson and her horses Skyjackers Mountain High, a 2006 TWHBEA National High Point Champion, and Regal Rebel. A large enthusiastic crowd attended the demonstration to learn about the different classes’ versatility horses compete in such as Water Class, Western Riding, and Barrels. Tracy also gave everyone an opportunity to enjoy Pleasure Driving by allowing them to test drive Skyjacker around the arena. Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture, Ron Sparks, attended the event on Sunday to ride a Tennessee Walking Horse.

A group of riders enjoy the scenic ride.
After enduring a cool weekend in Alabama, TWHBEA traveled with Best of America by Horseback to Bismarck, AR to visit the Bar Fifty Ranch on April 20-22, 2007. Again, there was a Trail Masters Reception to welcome all the trail riders. This event included Dilbert Shields playing Cowboy Music by the campfire. TWHBEA Mississippi Director Karla Massey brought horses to the ride as did TWHBEA member Pamela Schoenster. Both Best of American by Horseback host Tom Seay and Dilbert Shields enjoyed riding one of Karla’s well trained mounts. Bar Fifty Ranch breeds Tennessee Walking Horses and leased out several horses for the day’s ride making the ride a success with about 130 horses attending. Riders enjoyed rolling hills and creeks throughout the trail. After a long day of riding everyone enjoyed a Bar-B-Que dinner and campfire entertainment.
As TWHBEA continues to travel to amazing locations with Best of America by Horseback’s Grand Tour, we are receiving a wonderful response to the versatile smooth riding Tennessee Walking Horse that we as owners already enjoy.
